This is a 20th-Century copy after the painting of c.1635 now attributed to Hendrick Steenwyck the Younger in the National Portrait Gallery (No 1247).
The sitter appears full length turned half to the right, standing in a colonnade; a red fan (closed) in her left hand; wearing a blue dress decorated with pearls; pearls around her neck and on her tiara; her black hair in curls; view of a colonnade to the right.Provenance
Commissioned by the Holyrood Amenity Trust. Copied from the original in the National Portrait Gallery, London, and completed in the spring of 1930.
