Henry, Prince of Wales is shown at half-length, facing half to the left, his left hand on his hip wearing in Garter robes against a plain brown background. He wears the collar, jewelled pendant George, and plumed black hat of the Order, set with three large elaborate jewels. Possibly painted in 1604, this is closely related to a full-length portrait of the Prince, painted in that year, in the collection of the Earl of Mar and Kellie.
