A copy by James Brooks of John Phillip's painting of the wedding of Princess Victoria to Prince Frederick William of Prussia (RCIN 406819). Princess Victoria, Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, married Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia when she was 17 years old. The wedding took place in the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace.
Shown is a view of the interior of the chapel with The Princess Royal and Prince Frederick William kneeling at the altar rail before the Archbishop of Canterbury; on the right, Queen Victoria stands beside The Prince Consort and other members of the Royal Family.
