Däcko, the smooth-haired dachshund, seated, facing half to the right, his head turned half to the left; a white wall with some parcel-gilt moulding details to the left and a red leash and dog collar in the lower left corner.
Däcko was said to have been Queen Victoria's favourite short-haired dachshund. He was born in the Kennels at Windsor in 1859 and died in 1871.
