Princess Louisa of Saxe-Meiningen (1710-1767), Duchess of Saxe-Gotha c.1730-67

Luise Dorothea of Saxe-Meiningen, daughter of Ernst Ludwig I, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and Dorothea Maria of Saxe-Gotha, married in 1729 Frederick III of Saxe-Gotha. She is depicted wearing an ermine-lined green mantle over a cream dress decorated with a diamond and drop-pearl stomacher with a similar jewelled ornament in her hair.

Possilby acquired by George IV and the 'Lady in a blue Mantle' recorded in store at Carlton House in 1816 (no 33) and 1819 (no 252); first certainly recorded at Buckingham Palace in 1876 (no 1118)
