A boisterous man with a decorated hat and stick bursts in through the door on the left.

The precise narrative of this slightly naive scene cannot be determined, but it obviously concerns young men on a carnival escapade. The artist is similarly obscure: it is inscribed with the place and date - Munich, 1836 - and the name of the artist 'Haetterz', with an initial and abbreviated first name that looks like an 'S' followed by 'Pag'.
