A stag stands facing to the right by the edge of a pool(?); behind is a second stag within the lush vegetation and trees; in the distance is a range of hills.
The Osborne Catalogue of 1876 describes this enamel as one of two copies (the other being 406251) of pictures by Keyrer (Christian Wilhelm Karl Keyrer 1770-1869) which hung for thirty years in the Duke of Coburg's Writing Room at Rosenau.Provenance
Given to Prince Albert by his brother, Ernst II Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, for Christmas 1859; recorded at Orborne House, 1876
