Wat, a white and tan short haired terrier, sits facing in profile to the right, his head inclined upwards, wearing a red leather collar with silver links over; sitting on grass with shrubs behind, the branch of a tree at the top edge.
This is not the same dog as Princess Beatrice's dog, also called Wat, who was born March 1876; this dog has different patches on his body.Provenance
