A penguin, carved in vari-coloured grey chalcedony with head turned left, rose diamond eyes and chased red gold feet.
Queen Alexandra purchased ‘penguins agate orletz’ from the London branch of Fabergé on 13 November 1911. The penguin was a model which Cartier also produced as part of their range of hardstone animals, inspired by Fabergé.
