This work was attributed to Honthorst and clearly reveals his influence; the attribution to Adam de Coster was proposed in 1961.
Provenance
Described in the Long Matted Gallery in the 1666 Inventory of Whitehall Palace (no 52), where it is said to have been given (to Charles II) by Mr Browne, a Clerk of Parliament
