Full-length, facing half right, left hand resting on a table next to a plumed hat, his right hand on his hip; blonde beard and moustache, wearing a buff-coloured jerkin with red ribbons and a ruff, a blue sash with gold, red and beige striped trousers
Provenance
Presumably acquired by George IV; first recorded as a group of eight in the Armory at Carlton House in 1816 (no 455) and again in 1819 (no 496); seven survive in the collection (RCIN 401394-9 & 407499)
