A battle axe or pharetri usually associated with the Khond peoples indigenous to central, eastern and southern parts of India. The crescent shaped blade is made of steel and fixed to wooden shaft.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76.
