A battle-axe or tabar made of steel and overlaid with floral decoration in gold wire. The blade reversed with a square hammer-head.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76. The axe is recorded to come from Kolhapur State in Arms and Armour at Sandringham House (1910), presumably presented to the Prince of Wales by Shivaji V Chhatrapati Narayana Bhonsle, Raja of Kolhapur in November 1875.
