A bronze figure of a rearing stallion with an even olive brown patina and with forelegs in the air, the tail and mane streaming, standing on a rectangular slate plinth. A similar horse features in 'La Galerie de Girardon' from circa 1710, which contains engravings illustrating pieces of sculpture collected by the sculptor Francois Girardon.
Provenance
Brought from Kensington Palace to Carlton House in 1818. Sent to the King's Lodge at Windsor Castle on 12th July 1824.
