Bronze bust of Queen Elizabeth II, head turned to her left, wearing a George IV diadem (the Diamond Diadem), the Coronation Necklace and earrings, and a mantle over a dress, with the riband and Star of the Order of the Garter. The Order of Australia is pinned to the riband.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Elizabeth II by the Honourable Robert J. L. Hawke, the Prime Minister of Australia, on behalf of the Government and People of Australia, Canberra, 9 May 1988, to mark the occasion of the opening of Parliament House. Commissioned by the Parliament House Construction Authority.
The full size plaster was offered in the artist's studio sale, Bonhams and Goodman, Adelaide, 15 February 2009.
The bust was the model for the full-size sculpture outside Parliament House commissioned by the Order of Australia Association. -
