An earthenware figurine of two flying dolphins, both facing down towards each other, on top of two darker blue ceramic waves, the whole resting on wooden block base. Metal plaque on front of wooden base.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to Poole Pottery, 23 March 1979.
The modeller was Tony Morris, and a second copy was made which was in the possession of Arnold Smith, Chairman of Poole Pottery before the mould was destroyed. That second copy offered Duggleby Stephenson, York, 14 June 2024, lot 6035. Reoffered 6 September lot 6144. -
