A set of five oak benches in the Gothic style, the rectangular back with triple moulded top and central panel carved in relief and painted with royal arms and garter motto between two pads covered in crimson plush, in brass rail borders. Plain frame and spayed feet, shaped sides joined by peg construction and carved with crowned VR cypher in quatrefoils.
Provenance
First recorded in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle during the reign of Queen Victoria, when located in the Grand Entrance Hall.
