A Louis XIV mantel clock on a walnut stand with scroll feet supported by crouching horses and crowned by a figure of Minerva. The sides supported by female herms, flower finials at the corners. Below the dial is a scene in gilt bronze of two women. Below the centre figure is a scrolled shell.
The carcase is of pine veneered in première and contre partie Boulle marquetry of engraved brass on tortoise shell and tortoise shell on brass. The mounts are of chased and gilt bronze. -
