Princess Anne was born at Clarence House on 15 August 1950, the second child of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. She was created Princess Royal in 1987. The Royal Family is seen here enjoying their summer holiday at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, shortly after the Coronation. Later in the same year HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh set off on a six-month world tour, from which they returned in May 1954.Provenance
