Photograph of the tableau 'Harvest' performed at Balmoral Castle. From left to right, the performers include: Princess Maud of Wales (1869-1938), later Queen of Norway; Princess Alix of Hesse (1872-1918), later Alexandra Feodorovna with her arms around Prince Arthur of Connaught (1883-1938), who faces the viewer; Prince Albert Victor of Wales (1864-92), who is seated amongst hay stacks facing the viewer; Sir R Collins standing, holding a pipe in his right hand; Princess Margaret of Connaught (1882-1920), later Crown Princess of Sweden who stands facing the viewer and holding a water jug; Miss Trotter and Baron von Pawel-Rammingen (1843-1932) who lies on his left side supporting the ewer held by Princess Margaret.
Queen Victoria wrote in her journal following the performance of this tableau that "We had a small band from Aberdeen, which played well, & appropriate pieces, during, & between the tableaux." RA VIC/MAIN/ (W) 5th October 1888 -
