Photograph of a scene from the play 'Mr Pillycoddy' that was performed at Balmoral Castle. One of the performers, the Honourable Harry Legge, wearing a sailor's outfit, stands in a full-length portrait facing three-quarters to the left. His rests his right hand on his hip, and in his left hand he holds a telescope.
On the 2nd June 1894, Queen Victoria later recorded in her journal that she watched 'the most droll little play Mr "Pilly Caddy" [sic] in one act, [that] was performed Mr Yorke was simply killing, Major Legge very good & Ethel C. excellent, as the Maid of all work...Little Beatrice was charming in her one little scene, which Mr Yorke prepared for her.' -
