Photograph of the tableau 'Caller Herrin' performed at Balmoral Castle for Queen Victoria and featuring members of the Royal Household. The performers are arranged around a rowing boat and include (from left to right): Miss Victoria Brown (niece of John Brown) inside the rowing boat with a wicker basket on her back; Miss Victoria Profeit (daughter of Dr Alexander Profeit, commissioner at Balmoral) who is seated on the side of the boat and facing the viewer; The Hon Ethel Cadogan (1853-1930) who stands inside the boat holding an oar; and Miss Victoria Stewart who pulls the boat with an attached rope.
The tableau 'Caller Herrin' was performed in the Ballroom at Balmoral Castle on the 8th June 1893 and was one of a series of performances that included 'In Romania'; 'Ivanhoe'; 'The Studio'; 'The Snake Charmer' and 'Sleeping Beauty'. The tableaux were arranged by Mr Yorke 'beautifully, without any help of pictures.' RA VIC/MAIN/QVJ (W) 8 June 1893 -
