This photograph is part a series mounted into an album also containing drawings and watercolours, all of which document the five-week Coronation Tour of the Indian subcontinent from December 1911 to January 1912. The King and Queen sailed from Portsmouth on RMS Medina. The Delhi Durbar, a ceremonial gathering which marked George V’s succession as King Emperor of India, was held on 12 December. -
