Tobermory is situated on the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Queen Victoria visited Tobermory on the 19th August 1847 and wrote in her journal 'Passed on into the Mull Sound by Tobermory, a small place, prettily situated, & the views continued being beautiful.' RA VIC/MAIN/QVJ (W) 19th August 1847. This photograph is part of a portfolio of 42 photographs taken by Wilson that were used to illustrate a book featuring entries from Queen Victoria's journals, written during her visits to Scotland.
