Photograph of the River Tummel flowing either side of a large rock and cascading down to a broader area of water in the foreground. A dense patch of trees stand on the left of the river bank in the middle ground and tree branches encroach upon the right of the foreground. A large mountain dominates the left of the background.
This photograph is from a portfolio of 42 photographs taken by Wilson that were used to illustrate a book featuring entries from Queen Victoria's journals, written during her visits to Scotland. Leaves from the Journal of Our Life in the Highlands, was published to great success in 1868.Provenance
