Watercolour sketch by Major MacBean of Captain Germon's Post during the Seige of Lucknow. The low building has been badly damaged by shell fire. There is a red and white striped tent to the right with two men seated outside. A man in Western dress is walking between the building and the tent. Two buildings, the Fureed Buksh and the Chuttur-Mumzil, can be seen in the distance. There is a handwritten caption in the lower right corner.
The accompanying text for this image, at the front of the book, records that this building was held throughout the Siege of Lucknow under the command of Captain Germon of the 13th Regiment. This is one of only two watercolours in the book, the rest of the images being photographs of the original sketches. -
