Photogravure of Ada Annie Watney (née Nunn). In this bust portrait, Watney is photographed in profile. Her eyes are downcast as she reads from a book held in front of her chest. She wears a striped dress with dark coloured gauze sleeves, two long strings of pearls and pearl drop earrings. Her hair is curled and pinned up, secured with a bandeaux. A decorative dragonfly pin is secured in her hair.
In the accompanying caption, Watney is described being "of medium height, fair complexion, golden-brown hair and grey-blue eyes. Her father was English and her mother Portuguese, and she has been twice married." She "is very fond of fishing, riding and driving, and is a very keen motorist."Provenance
