Photograph of Prince Charles standing, facing three-quarters right and wearing shorts.
In November 1953 The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh left for the Commonwealth tour which they had abandoned in Kenya the year before, owing to the death of King George VI. A few days before their departure, Prince Charles attended a sitting with Adams, several pictures from which were published to mark the young Prince's fifth birthday.
