Three-quarters length portrait, the Duchess is seated to right, holding Princess Elizabeth, who is kneeling on her lap, face turned round to the viewer. The Princess wears a short-sleeved summer dress with frilled skirt frilled neckline and sleeves. The Duchess wears a long-sleeved dress with pearl 3-string necklace.
