Hugh Cecil Saunders established a studio in London in 1912 and thanks to his simple, elegant style his reputation grew quickly across the city and his photographs regularly appeared in style magazines. The then Prince of Wales granted him several sittings over the years, including in 1936 when he acceded to the throne, as shown here. Cecil was also chosen to provide profile photographs of the king for postage stamps. -
