Photograph of Queen Victoria's personal servant William Brown with three of her dogs at Balmoral. Brown is sitting on a chair with a stone archway behind him. He is wearing Highland dress including a kilt. There are three dogs sitting at his feet: Marco, Turi and Roy.
Queen Victoria kept many breeds of dog, with collies and Pomeranians among her favourite. Marco was the first Pomeranian she acquired, adopting him in Italy in 1888.Provenance
