Photograph of the Garter Throne Room, laid out for a Council, looking toward the throne. The room is dominated by a large dining table covered in velvet, headed by the Throne of the King of Kandy (returned to Sri Lanka in 1934), and several chairs and stools covered with Garter emblems. The room is lit by three large glass chandeliers. There is an ebonzied cabinet with gilt-brass mounts to right (RCIN 33510) and another cabinet in between two Gothic torcheres or floor lamps. On the right there is a pier table with lions' as leg supports, in between the bay windows, and two more Gothic torcheres.
