Photograph of the Picture Gallery, now known as the Queen's Drawing Room, Windsor Castle, looking towards the Queen's Ballroom, viewed through door. There is a mixture of furniture in different styles and periods, and many paintings on the wall. For example there is a sofa with a small marquetry occasional table in front of a Boulle-style writing table (RCIN 35830). Against the long wall are: a settee, a lacquer and gilt mental commode (RCIN 39208), a pair of Chinese vases, a pair of Fluorspar and gilt bronze vases by Boulton (RCIN 21669), a pair of giltwood pedestals (RCIN 35475) with a pair of incense burners on top (RCIN 35441), a Boulle secretaire by Levasseur (RCIN 29945). The wallpaper is a repeating pattern of Edward VII's monogram surrounded by a wreath and surmounted by a crown. The carpet is patterned with Tudur roses intersected by oak leaves. All the candles, whether on candelabra or chandelier, all have 'tulip' shades. One of the clearest paintings is on the far wall, Portrait of a Lady, attiributed to Hans Brosamer (RCIN 402866).
