Photograph of the Council Room, now known as the State Bedroom with the magnificent 'polonaise' George Jacob bed (RCIN 39220) in the centre. On the wall by the fireplace is a tapestry, probably a Mortlake tapestry called 'January' (RCIN 64108.1) In front of the fireplace is a large firescreen painted with a still-life of flowers. There is a large crystal chandelier. Underneath this is a small writing table.
