Photograph of the Rubens Room, Windsor Castle, now known as the King's Drawing Room. The walls are hung with fabric that features a repeating motif of the Royal coat or arms surrounded by the garter and collar of the Order of the Garter, all surmounted by a crown and edged with leaves. There is a large gilt bronze chandelier (RCIN 71784), now at Stormont Castle; various chairs and sofas in different covers. Notable pieces of furniture are: a Boulle writing table in the middle of the room (RCIN 35828); a love seat or courting chair, divided into two sections; a French writing desk (RCIN 20593). Most of the paintings on the walls are by Rubens. In addition there is a strong geometric Wilton carpet on the floor.
