The Grand Vestibule, 1902 dated
-
Photograph of the Grand Vestibule, with Boehm's statue of Queen Victoria with a collie (RCIN 35336) under a wooden Gothic canopy. The walls are lined with Gothic display cabinets filled with mostly weapons; above them are displays of arms and armour and flags, which seem to be of Asiatic origin. The wooden floor is bare except for three rugs; there are assorted chairs and settees. The display cases were designed in 1888 to display the Golden Jubilee gifts, but by 1902 the displays had changed its focus to the arms and armour collection.
