Taken at Yeovilton, Somerset. In September 1974, the Prince joined the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton, where he trained as a helicopter pilot. On completion of his training he joined 845 Squadron, which embarked in HMS Hermes to the Caribbean and east Canadian waters.
