This page is in an album compiled by Captain Oliver Montagu which contains photographs, newspaper cuttings, ephemera and a diary account by Montagu of the 1874 visit to Russia by the Prince and Princess of Wales. Albert Edward and Alexandra travelled to Russia to attend the wedding of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (and later Duke of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha) to Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, the daughter of Tsar Alexander II. Captain Montagu was a member of the Prince and Princess of Wales's suite.
