Also mounted on the same page are pieces of ephemera including an invitation and a menu, and the fourteenth page of Montagu's diary, or daily account, of the 1874 visit to Russia by the Prince and Princess of Wales, later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.

Albert Edward and Alexandra travelled to Russia to attend the wedding of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (and later Duke of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha) to Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, the daughter of Tsar Alexander II. Captain Montagu was a member of the Prince and Princess of Wales's suite.Provenance
