Prince Wilhelm was born on the 27 January 1859 at the Crown Prince's Palace in Berlin. His father was Frederick III and his mother, Princess Victoria, the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria. Wilhelm married his first wife, Princess Augusta Victoria of Schleswig Holstein on the 27 February 1881 and re-married Princess Hermine Reuss of Greiz in 1922. The Emperor died in exile at Doorn in the Netherlands on the 4 June 1941.
