Princess daughter was the third daughter of Frederick III, German Emperor and Victoria, Princess Royal. She was born in the New Palace, Potsdam, Prussia. Sophia met her future husband, Prince Constantine of Greece during the funeral of Emperor Wilhelm I of Germany in 1888 and were married on the 27th October 1889 in Athens. Constantine became Constantine I of Greece and Sophia became Queen Consort of the Hellenes in 1913 following the assassination of King George I in Thessaloniki, Greece. -
