'The oldest house in Lichfield' 1856
-
Photograph of a black and white building with the timbers visible alongside the white walls in the town of Lichfield, built in 1510.
During the Civil War, the house was used as a prison to incarcerate both Royalist and Parliamentarian troops. In the 19th Century, Lichfield House served as a coal merchants's shop and a milliner's shop. In 1936, the house was opened to the public as a cafe and still serves this purpose today.Provenance
