Photograph from an album of Lord Charles Petty-Fitzmaurice, standing in a three-quarters length portrait, facing the viewer. He rests his right hand on the side of a small, circular table on which is placed a bicorne hat. His left hand rests on the hilt of a sword that hangs at his waist. He wears the uniform of the Dragoon Guards.
Nairne was the son of the 5th Marquess of Lansdowne and joined the 1st King's Dragoon Guards in 1895. In 1909 until his death during the First World War, Nairne was an Equerry to King George V, when Prince of Wales. -
