Lady Eva Dugdale was a life-long friend and Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Mary from 1892 until her stroke in 1918/9. She was born Eva Greville, the daughter of the fourth Earl of Warwick. She married Frank Dugdale, who later became Equerry to Queen Mary. Eva was responsible for raising funds for a wedding present to Princess Mary, with contributions towards a diamond tiara from Garrards, in 1893. This tiara became known as the 'Queen Mary's Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara'. In 1947 Queen Mary gave the tiara as a wedding present to her grand-daughter, later Her Majesty The Queen
