In August 1909 Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia and his family attended the annual Cowes Regatta. Nicholas II hosted King Edward VII and members of the British Royal family on the Russian Imperial Yacht Standart as well as being entertained on HMY Victoria and Albert III.
