Photograph of the funeral procession of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia in St Petersburg. At the front of the procession there are clerics carrying banners. The canopy covering the coffin follows behind, surrounded by mounted soldiers. Behind is the Moskovsky railway station, and there are mounted soldiers in the foreground to the left. Alexander III died at the Livadia Palace in the Crimea in November 1894. His body was transported to St Petersburg by train and was buried at the Peter and Paul Fortress.
