Description

Bust-length photograph of Prince Alexander Gorchakov. He is turned partly to the right and is wearing a suit, tie and spectacles. Prince Alexander Gorchakov was Foreign Minister of Russia from 1856 to 1882. He was involved in the sale of Alaska to the United States and denounced the Paris Treaty, allowing Russia to resume its naval presence in the Black Sea.
