Photograph of Tsesarevna Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928), later Empress of Russia, and the Princess of Wales (1844-1925), later Queen Alexandra. They are standing together with Tsesarevna Maria Feodorovna on the left facing forwards. The Princess of Wales has turned to the left to show the back of her dress, her right arm resting on her sister's shoulder. Both are wearing dresses with a polka dot pattern. There is a table to the left and a window to the right. Maria Feodorovna and Queen Alexandra were the eldest daughters of Christian IX of Denmark. Maria Feodorovna was the consort of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia and Queen Alexandra was the consort of King Edward VII. The sisters maintained a close relationship throughout their lives.
