A carte-de-visite group photograph of the children of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra: Princess Victoria (1868-1935), Princess Maud (1869-1938) (behind), Prince Albert Victor (1864-92), Princess Louise (1867-1931) and Prince George, later King George V (1865-1936). The girls are dressed almost identically in velvet 'sack' jackets and skirts with white fur trims, thick woollen tights and fur-trimmed hats. The boys are dressed in a form of Highland dress, which is a fitted jacket, ribbon bow tie and kilts. Prince Albert Victor wears a cap.
