Photograph of the coronation procession of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia (1868-1918) entering the Assumption Cathedral. In front of the entrance to the cathedral there is a decorative canopy supported by soldiers. Dignitaries are following behind and there is a huge crowd to either side. The coronation of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia took place at the Assumption Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin on the 14th of May 1896. The cathedral had been the traditional setting for the coronation of Russian Emperors since Ivan IV.
